No Libraries Are Being Closed

Wokingham Borough is not closing any libraries.

The Library service provision is under review with the Borough seeking suitable external organisations capable of providing quality service.

However, it is misleading for others to suggest this would lead to library closures or increased costs to residents.    The Borough is looking at ways to expand its library service and there are no plans to close libraries despite the year on year decline in their use.

Wokingham Borough is no stranger to third parties running residents services, the Refuse service has been run by a private company for many years.
