WBC has opened community testing centres in Wokingham and at Thames Valley Business Park to carry out lateral flow testing. A further centre will follow in Sindlesham
• This service is available between 8am and 4pm Monday to Saturday. From 15th February, we will offer extended hours 2 days a week to make the service more accessible
• It is open to everyone classified as a key worker under the Government definition during the latest lockdown - this includes nursery staff, delivery drivers, construction workers, blue light staff and many others
• Services can be booked on the WBC website. The service will have a capacity of 800 people per week initially but will be expanded if demand requires it
• 900 tests have been carried out so far, with one positive case identified. 1,600 bookings for tests have been made
• WBC is providing this service to stop the spread of COVID-19 within the community
• It is open to Wokingham residents and residents from elsewhere who work in Wokingham
• WBC is providing support to people who have no choice to go out to work during the lockdown to protect them from COVID-19
